Years with Neuberger Berman

William J. Peterson, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1992. As a Senior Wealth Advisor, Bill provides investment management and estate planning guidance and emphasizes that gaining an accurate understanding of clients’ needs and risk parameters is essential to achieving success. He began his career in the industry in 1991 and received a BA in Economics from Fairfield University. Bill was recently ranked on the Barron’s 2022 Top 1,200 Financial Advisors State by State as #16 in New York State and #67 on its list of “America’s Top 100 Financial Advisors” in 2022. These achievements are based on Bill and his team’s focus on client service and retention. Bill and his team pride themselves on the fact that referrals from existing clients are by far their largest source of new business and that their holistic, long-term approach to wealth management has enabled them to effectively advise three generations of clients. Bill has been on numerous philanthropic boards. He is actively involved in mentoring young at-risk adults and is also the head of a non-profit instructional sailing program.

Third-party accolades are not indicative of the past or future performance of any Neuberger Berman product or service.

With the complexities of the capital markets, changing estate and tax laws, as well as the re-definition of the “traditional” family, effective planning coupled with efficient portfolio positioning are imperative components to achieving success on behalf of my team’s clients. The most rewarding part of my job over the past 30 years is partnering with clients to define their financial, fiduciary and philanthropic objectives. There is no greater pride than to see the effective execution of a well-thought-out plan. I firmly believe my team’s longevity and focus on client-specific planning have enabled us to develop a client base that spans four generations.
